A New Journey…

After months scanning Gumtree for medium sized vans in various stages of renovation, I found a ’08 Vauxhall Vivaro. An ideal ready to use project. It came with favoured tail gate, double slide doors, kitchen pod, insulation, tinted windows on all sides and 12 months mot. Delighted, we drove back to Scotland knowing that the injectors would need replaced one day (a running complaint on TVP’s of this age) This was the start of our camper van.

Our faultless, 7 year old commuting Volvo was quickly set to one side and the Roaming Vivaro (RV) gained a name – Harvey. Purchase of a memory foam mattress and a whistling kettle was sufficient for our first venture.

On 3rd October 2015, duvets, teabags and mugs were thrown in and we headed for the first Balmahas Braw Weekend on the banks of Loch Lomond organised by the owners of The Oak Tree Inn in the village itself. Only staying one night, we had our cup of tea and headed home. Not the most exiting of starts but it was life progress in the right direction…
